Elizabeth Coleman, CNM, FNP
Liz Coleman is a certified nurse-midwife and family nurse practitioner. Liz began her career as a labor and delivery nurse after falling in love with the miracle of childbirth in nursing school. After several years in bedside nursing, Liz realized she wanted to build a deeper bond with her patients by caring for them from their initial OB office visit, to their delivery and beyond. Liz strongly believes that pregnancy is a beautiful time that enriches the life of a woman and her family, and Liz is passionate about guiding women through that journey. She has assisted hundreds of women in welcoming their babies into the world and, for Liz, each delivery is as exciting as the first.
Liz has had the pleasure of caring for thousands of women from a variety of personal, religious and cultural backgrounds. She enjoys learning from each individual to better personalize care of the patient and her family and promote the childbirth experience they hope for. She understands the importance of building relationships with her patients while respecting their beliefs and empowering them through education and self-awareness. With her training as a family nurse practitioner, Liz also especially enjoys working with the adolescent population helping them prepare them for a life-long healthy lifestyle. For Liz, combining her FNP degree and midwifery allows for a holistic and nurturing approach to healthcare throughout a woman's lifespan.
Liz earned her Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery from Emory University School of Nursing. As a long-time Georgia resident, Liz attended the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Liz was recognized as a "Mom Approved Doctor" by the Atlanta Parent's Magazine in 2017. In her free time, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well as their families and friends.
