Laura Wiese, DNP, MPH, CNM

Laura Wiese is a certified nurse midwife who feels passionately about providing inclusive, open, and accessible care to women and birthing people across the lifespan. She values collaborative decision making and patient education as key components of obstetric and gynecologic care. She strives to provide person-centered, supportive and empowering care to every patient she sees but is especially interested in family planning and contraception, and childbirth education.
Laura comes to midwifery after almost a decade of public health work and brings her experience and training in public health policy and laboratory science to her practice as a provider. In addition, she was a labor and delivery nurse where she gained extensive experience in labor support, breastfeeding support, and prenatal education. She brings her passion for improving community-level health outcomes and increasing access to OB/GYN care to her midwifery practice and believes in the midwifery model of care as a way to meet these goals.
Laura received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership and Nurse-Midwifery from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She also has a Master of Public Health in Health Policy from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spring Hill College. She is board-certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and Sigma Theta Tau nursing honor society.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family while hiking and gardening. She also loves to read and eat all the wonderful food Atlanta has to offer!
