Miranda Long, MD
Dr. Miranda Long is ecstatic to return to her home state of Georgia. Dr. Long was raised in Columbus, GA and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree. She completed her medical school training at the Medical College of Georgia and her residency specialty training at Ochsner Medical center in New Orleans. Although the food and the culture of New Orleans made for an unforgettable experience, she is very excited to be back in Georgia.
During residency training at Ochsner Medical Center, Dr. Long showed great passion for taking care of patients with high-risk pregnancies. She won a research award for her presentation on management and improvement of postpartum hemorrhage at her residency institution. She also presented at the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine national research conference on fetal outcomes after pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction. She truly finds passion in managing her patients throughout their pregnancy and postpartum period. Dr. Long also has a strong interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and is a da Vinci certified robotic surgeon. She places a strong emphasis on staying up to date with her medical knowledge and while in residency, she won the top CREOG score award for her performance on the written obstetrics and gynecology exam.
In her spare time, Dr. Long enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, son, and their two dogs. She loves to try new restaurants - the more local, the better. She is big into college football and you can catch her cheering on the Dawgs every Saturday during the fall. Dr. Long is very excited to be back in Georgia and looks forward to taking care of her future patients.
