Zin Alonso, MD, MPH
Dr. Zin Htet Alonso is excited to plant roots in Georgia and be close to her husband's family. Born in Yangon, Myanmar, Dr. Alonso is fluent in Burmese. She also speaks conversational and medical Spanish. Dr. Alonso moved to New York City as a child and stayed in New York to complete her undergraduate degree at Cornell University. She then completed her medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During this time, she also received her Master in Public Health and won the Global Health Scholars Award. Through this award, Dr. Zin was able to serve in non-profit public health by participating in cervical cancer screening and treatment programs in Myanmar.
Dr. Alonso completed her Ob/Gyn residency training at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where she received the Christine A. Hutchinson Memorial Award, as well as the Center for Women's Medicine Outstanding Resident award. She enjoys the joy and celebration of delivering babies and encouraging her patients through prenatal care and delivery. Dr. Alonso is also skilled in various types of surgeries, including hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and da Vinci robotic surgery. She is particularly interested in community outreach, prenatal care, and adolescent gynecology. She looks forward to building long-lasting relationships with her patients and providing them with compassionate care.
In her spare time, Dr. Alonso loves to travel the world and learn about new cultures and foods. She especially enjoys exploring new eateries and experiences that are off the beaten path. She enjoys Latin dancing, especially Salsa and Bachata. She treasures spending time with her husband, her dog, and her family and friends.
