Zin Htet Alonso, MD, MPH, FACOG
Dr. Zin Htet Alonso is excited to plant roots in Georgia after living in several states including New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Born in Yangon, Myanmar, Dr. Alonso is fluent in Burmese. She also speaks conversational and medical Spanish. Dr. Alonso moved to New York City as a child and stayed in New York to complete her undergraduate degree at Cornell University. She then completed her medical education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During this time, she also received her Master in Public Health and won the Global Health Scholars Award. Through this award, Dr. Alonso was able to serve in non-profit public health by participating in a cervical cancer screening and treatment program in Myanmar.
Alonso completed her Ob/Gyn residency training at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where she received the Christine A. Hutchinson Memorial Award, as well as the Center for Women's Medicine Outstanding Resident award. Dr. Alonso is board certified and is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is skilled in various types of surgeries, including hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and da Vinci robotic surgery. She is particularly interested in community outreach, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Alonso enjoys building long term relationships with her patients and helping women through all phases of life. She is committed to provide compassionate care to patients of all backgrounds and all sexual orientation.
In her spare time, Dr. Alonso loves to travel the world and learn about new cultures and foods. She especially enjoys exploring new eateries and experiences that are off the beaten path. She enjoys Latin dancing and yoga. She treasures spending time with her family and friends.
